Following our walk on the High
Stile Ridge the day before, a relaxing day looking round Keswick
seemed a good idea.
I had heard about the Pencil Museum when we were
on our walking holiday in Borrowdale, but we had not previously
had a chance to visit it.
Today we parked at the Lakeside Car Park and
walked through Hope Park to the Pencil Museum, where we spent a
couple of very interesting and informative hours, before walking
along to Fitz Park, where we had hoped to visit the Keswick Museum.
Unfortunately, being out of season, it was not open, so that will
have to wait for another day.
Instead, we walked back to Booths Supermarket,
where we had a delicious lunch, followed by a visit to the Teapottery,
a place we had passed often and which had fascinated me but again
we had never had time to visit, so this was our chance to see all
the weird and wonderful teapots for ourselves. Needless to say we
came away with one of them! |
